The Power of Teacher ExpectationsSeptember 2010 In a certain school, a class of students proved to be unmanageable. Not surprisingly, their bad behaviour led to low achievement, and no teacher was willing to teach these students. The principal was in a quandary. Where could he find a teacher who had the ability and patience to teach a class of rambunctious boys? Circle Time September 2010 As each new school year starts, teachers around the world brainstorm to find ways to turn a diverse set of personalities into a cohesive whole. Christian teachers work both to help the student body become a unified body and to bring a concrete realization to students that Jesus is their friend and Savior. Bell’ Italia September 01, 2010 The ears of my grade 11 students perked up as I diverted from our regular Language Arts instruction to make an announcement that would reverberate through my classroom long after the students had filed out. “The School Board has given me permission to take you on a European tour during spring break of your grade 12 year.” It took a couple minutes for the announcement to sink in, but once it did the students were ecstatic as all eyes sought mine for the reassuring look that “Yes, this is for real.
